Peer Review Process

Each article submitted to the editorial staff will undergo an Initial Review by the Editorial Board. After this, the article will be forwarded to Mitra Bebestari (peer reviewers) for further assessment through a Blind Review Process. After peer review, the article will be returned to the authors for revisions. The entire review process can take up to one month. Each manuscript will be evaluated based on both substantial and technical criteria by the Mitra Bebestari.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content, based on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a wider global exchange of knowledge.

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries. It allows these libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More details can be found on the journal website.

Publication Ethics

Sriwijaya Journal of Community Empowerments is a peer-reviewed journal. This statement clarifies the ethical behavior of all parties involved in publishing an article in this journal. The guidelines follow the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) standards on good publication practices.

Duties of Authors

  • Reporting Standards:
    Authors must present an accurate and original report of their research. The paper should contain the necessary details and references. Plagiarism and fraudulent statements are unethical behaviors and are unacceptable.
  • Data Access and Retention:
    Authors should be prepared to provide raw data related to their paper for editorial review and, if practical, public access, while also retaining such data for a reasonable period after publication.
  • Originality and Plagiarism:
    Authors must ensure their work is original, and if they use the work and/or words of others, they must properly cite or quote them. Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable.
  • Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication:
    Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously. Submitting to multiple journals concurrently is unethical and unacceptable.
  • Confidentiality:
    Any information obtained during confidential services, such as peer reviews, must not be used without the explicit permission of the author involved.
  • Authorship of the Paper:
    All contributors to the research should be listed as co-authors. Authors must carefully review the list and order of authors before submitting. All listed authors should take responsibility for the content of the work.
  • Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest:
    Authors should disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that might influence the interpretation of their research results.
  • Fundamental Errors in Published Works:
    If authors discover a significant error in their published work, they must notify the journal editor and cooperate in correcting or retracting the paper.

Duties of Editors

  • Fair Play:
    Editors must evaluate manuscripts solely based on their intellectual merit, without considering race, gender, sexual orientation, or the political views of the authors.
  • Confidentiality:
    Editors must ensure that all submissions are handled with confidentiality. Unpublished materials must not be used in an editor’s own research without the author's explicit consent.
  • Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest:
    Editors must not use unpublished information for their own benefit and should avoid conflicts of interest.
  • Publication Decisions:
    The editorial board is responsible for deciding which articles will be published. Their decisions should be based on the manuscript’s importance to researchers and readers, considering ethical and legal guidelines.
  • Review of Manuscripts:
    Editors must ensure a fair and thorough peer-review process, selecting suitable peer reviewers with expertise in the topic.

Duties of Reviewers

  • Contribution to Editorial Decisions:
    Reviewers help the editors in making publication decisions and can also help the authors improve their manuscripts.
  • Alertness to Ethical Issues:
    Reviewers should be aware of ethical issues such as plagiarism or overlapping submissions and report them to the editor.
  • Standards of Objectivity:
    Reviewers must conduct their evaluations objectively, without personal criticism of the author, and provide clear arguments for their opinions.
  • Confidentiality:
    Reviewers must treat all submitted manuscripts as confidential and must not share them with others unless authorized by the editor.
  • Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest:
    Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest and should keep privileged information obtained during the peer review process confidential.

    Authors are NOT required to pay a submission fee.
  • Article Processing Charges (APCs): 0.00 (IDR)
    Authors whose teams include contributors from at least two countries are eligible for a free of charge waiver.
