Author Guidelines for Sriwijaya Journal of Community Empowerments

Journal Editor Policy
The Sriwijaya Journal of Community Empowerments publishes articles on training, research, and community service activities with a focus on community empowerment. Topics include training and marketing strategies for empowering communities, economic empowerment through MSMEs, access to social services and community welfare, student-led community service initiatives, empowerment programs in border areas, community-based education for sustainable development, the design and application of appropriate technologies, international organizational roles in community empowerment, and social diplomacy to strengthen community-based programs.

General Requirements

  1. Manuscript Length: Articles should be between 3000–4000 words, including bibliography, notes, tables, and appendices.
  2. Declaration (optional): A declaration confirming that the article has not been published elsewhere, in any form.
  3. Format:
    • Articles must be typed in Microsoft Word format.
    • Use Palatino Linotype font, size 11 (bold for headings), and 1.15 line spacing.
  4. Article Components:
    • Title: A maximum of 12 words for articles in Indonesian and 10 words for English articles. The title should be in Cambria 14, bold, centered.
    • Author's Name: The author's name should be placed below the title, in Palatino Linotype 10, bold, with no titles or abbreviations. Email addresses should follow the author's name.
    • Abstract: No more than 250 words, written in Indonesian or English. Include research objectives, methods, analytical techniques, and results. Use Cambria 12, italicized for English.
    • Keywords: A maximum of 5 keywords, separated by commas. These should be typed in italics (Cambria 12), and double-spaced below the abstract.

Section Headings and Content

  1. Introduction:
    • Type the section title in capital letters (Palatino Linotype, 11, bold).
    • The introduction should discuss the background, the urgency and rationalization of activities, literature review, problem-solving plans, activity objectives, and hypothesis development (Palatino Linotype, 11, normal).
  2. Research Methods:
    • Type the section title in capital letters (Palatino Linotype, 11, bold).
    • The methods section should describe the research approach, scope, operational definitions, research focus, place, population/sample/informants, data collection techniques, and data analysis methods (Palatino Linotype, 11, normal).
  3. Results and Discussion:
    • Type the section title in capital letters (Palatino Linotype, 11, bold).
    • The results section should present the findings with tables, graphs, or charts as needed. Each table/figure should be numbered and titled. The discussion should interpret the data and relate it to the literature (Palatino Linotype, 11).
  4. Conclusion & Suggestions:
    • Type the section title in capital letters (Palatino Linotype, 11, bold).
    • The conclusion should summarize the study’s findings and provide suggestions or contributions for application and/or the development of the field (Palatino Linotype, 11, normal).
  5. References:
    • Type the section title in capital letters (Palatino Linotype, 11, bold).
    • The reference list should follow the APA 7th edition style. It should include sources published within the last 10 years. Authors are required to use credible, peer-reviewed sources. Each entry should be formatted according to APA guidelines (Palatino Linotype, 11).

Submission Process

  1. Format: Articles should be submitted in Microsoft Word format. Use Palatino Linotype font, 11 pt, 1,15 space.
  2. Submission Email (optional): All articles must be sent to sjce_fisip@unsri.ac.id no later than:
    • End of May (for June issue),
    • End of November (for Desember issue).

Submission Checklist

Authors must check off the following criteria before submission:

  • The submission has not been previously published or is under review elsewhere.
  • The file is in Microsoft Word or other accepted formats (RTF, OpenOffice, WordPerfect).
  • URLs for references (if available) have been provided.
  • Text is single-spaced and uses 12-point font.
  • Tables, figures, and illustrations are placed within the text.
  • The manuscript adheres to all the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Copyright Agreement and License

In order to be accepted and published by Sriwijaya Journal of Community Empowerment, author(s) submitting the article manuscript should complete all the review stages. By submitting the manuscript, the author(s) agreed to the following terms:

The copyright of received articles shall be assigned to Sriwijaya Journal of Community Empowerment as the publisher of the journal. The intended copyright includes the rights to publish articles in various forms (including reprints). Sriwijaya Journal of Community Empowerment maintain the publishing rights to the published articles. Authors are permitted to disseminate published articles by sharing the link/DOI of the article at Sriwijaya Journal of Community Empowerment. Author are allowed to use their articles for any legal purposes deemed necessary without written permission from Sriwijaya Journal of Community Empowerment with an acknowledgment of initial publication to this journal.
