Abstract

This research focuses on enhancing public information accessibility by developing a disability-friendly website on the official portal of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. Using a qualitative case study approach, the study engaged disabled communities in Jakarta to identify accessibility needs. Methods included in-depth interviews, surveys, and usability testing. Findings reveal that implementing features like screen readers, adjustable text sizes, and high contrast mode significantly improves accessibility for disabled users. The website design aligns with WCAG principles to ensure an inclusive user experience. This study makes a significant contribution to public policy development on digital accessibility in government portals and can serve as a model for other regions.
