Abstract

This research aims to describe a sustainable development program through the development of edutourism that empowers the Karangpatihan Village Community, Ponorogo as part of the achievement of the global sustainable development agenda (SDG's). Karangpatihan Village, Ponorogo, was developed into a tourist village by utilizing the community's batik skills. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach through interviews, observation and documentation. The research results show that edutourism in Karangpatihan Village, Ponorogo by empowering the batik making skills of people with special needs is an achievement of sustainable development (SDGs). Karangpatihan Village, Ponorogo, empowers village communities who in fact have special needs to be able to participate in developing the village. In this program, they are given batik training using the splatter technique, resulting in batik with attractive patterns and economic value. This activity was later developed into an educational tourism attraction for communities outside Karangpatihan Village. Existing educational tourism (edutourism) targets educating the public about easy and interesting batik techniques while teaching about equality in participating in the Development agenda.
